GLENORA WINE CELLARS

The first winery on Seneca Lake, widely known for its warm hospitality and magnificent lakeside setting has garnered exemplary reviews both in and outside the Finger Lakes region.

Our founders, Gene Pierce along with Eastman Beers, Edward Dalrymple, and Howard Kimball, never imagined this when they opened the winery in 1977. Just three decades later, Glenora Wine Cellars would be producing 45,000 cases, hosting 85,000 visitors, and winning 75 medals at international wine competitions in one year alone.

GWC Lake Series RieslingLake Series Riesling

Production Notes: This is a non-vintage Riesling blend. Harvested from multiple vineyards, a blend of 76% Riesling and 24% Cayuga White. 979 cases produced and released October 7, 2010. Residual sugar: 2.6%, pH: 3.25, Total Acidity: .78%, Alcohol: 11.5%, IRF Scale: Medium Sweet

Tasting & Pairing Notes: The Lake Series Riesling has fresh fruit aromas reminiscent of apricots and peaches. The luscious semi-dry finish is balanced by the natural acidity provided by high-quality grapes. This fine wine accompanies poultry, fish, vegetarian, and Asian cuisine, or is enjoyable on its own.

 

GWC Lake Series ChardonnayLake Series Chardonnay

Production Notes: Residual sugar: 0.4%, pH: 3.11, Total Acidity: .74%, Alcohol: 12%, IRF Scale: Dry

Tasting & Pairing Notes: This non-vintage Chardonnay has pleasant fruit aromas balanced by a long, lingering, dry finish. This fine wine accompanies vegetarian meals, poultry, fish, or is enjoyable on its own.

Production Notes: This is a non-vintage cab sauv. Residual sugar: <1.0%, pH: 3.40, Total Acidity: .65%, Alcohol: 12%, IRF Scale: Dry

Tasting & Pairing Notes: Flavorful blackberry aromas combine with a rich, velvety mouthful in Glenora’s Lake Series Cabernet Sauvignon. The graceful,supple wine is an ideal accompaniment to red meats, pastas, and rich cheeses.
