BOUNDARY BREAKS VINEYARD

Boundary Breaks is one of the newest wineries in the Finger Lakes. Located on Seneca Lake, the winery prides itself in making only Riesling in the Finger Lakes, a region known worldwide for fine, cool-climate, white wines. The Finger Lakes region has an ideal, cool climate for white wines like Riesling. From the start, they decided to focus on Riesling and planted four different clones in 2008. These include Geisenheim clones 110, 98 and 239; and clone 90 from Neustadt. They have learned how each clone behaves in the soils and climate, and manage them individually to bring out their most desirable characteristics. Their first vintage was in 2011, and they continue on with their single-vineyard Riesling production with their focus being on vineyard management to produce these great Rieslings.

ReserveRieslingBBRiesling — Dry

Production Notes: Made from grapes harvested earliest in the season.

Tasting & Pairing Notes: A fruit-forward, bright and crisp Riesling with a long finish. This Riesling goes especially well with seafood

ReserveRieslingBBRiesling — Reserve

Production Notes: Harvested later in the season at maximum ripeness. Made in the German Spatlese style.

Tasting & Pairing Notes: A round, earthier wine, this wine pairs beautifully with very spicy food. The higher level of residual sugar balances even the hottest dishes from the Asian or Indian cuisine.

Late Harvest Riesling BBRiesling —
Late Harvest

Production Notes: As the name implies, these grapes are picked long after all the leaves have fallen from the vines–typically in December. At that point, the fruit has de-hydrated into dense, succulent, raisin-like morsels.

Tasting & Pairing Notes: This sweet, rich Riesling is perfect to drink as an alternative to a sweet dessert dish.
